Meet Our Team

At Sonova Construction, our people are the foundation of our success. Each member of our team brings unique skills, passion, and dedication to ensure that every project exceeds expectations.

Andy Rettke

Founder and CEO Sonova Construction

Hi, I’m Andrew Rettke — a former high school teacher and coach turned general contractor, business owner, and proud Plano resident. My journey into construction wasn’t a straight line, but it’s been driven by the same core value that guided me in the classroom: take care of people, and the rest will follow.

For over a decade, I’ve been helping homeowners, businesses, and organizations bring their projects to life — from small repairs to large-scale remodels and new builds. Before that, I spent seven years as a teacher (five in Plano ISD), where I learned the importance of communication, integrity, and building trust — skills that I now bring to every client relationship.

I work with a talented network of subcontractors and a committed team who share my “no shady work” philosophy. We believe in clear communication, fair pricing, and delivering high-quality results that last. Whether we’re painting a school, remodeling a bathroom, or managing a complex insurance restoration, we approach each project with the same level of care as if it were our own home.

When I’m not on a job site or meeting with clients, I’m spending time coaching wrestling, hunting, spending time with my wife, or tackling construction projects around my own home. I’ve called this community home since 2000, and am always looking for ways to give back, whether it’s helping a neighbor, supporting local events, or simply being there for my community.

My Mission: Build trust through craftsmanship, honesty, and service.
Our Promise: We’ll treat your project like it’s ours — no shortcuts, no surprises, just quality you can count on.

The Team Behind Sonova Construction

At Sonova Construction, our people are the foundation of our success. Each member of our team brings unique skills, passion, and dedication to ensure that every project exceeds expectations.

Ryan Rettke

Hi, I’m Ryan Rettke. I’ve been part of the Plano community for 25 years, am a proud alum of Plano East Senior High, and have spent the past 11 years in the construction business. Before co-founding Sonova Construction, I spent time learning from leaders in the industry in both hands on work, and as an experienced project manager. I absolutely love what I do. From roofing to full remodels, I can take care of any project with no stress to you. I specialize in fire, flood, and storm mitigation and restoration. Whether it's helping families recover after a disaster or ensuring a job site is safe and clean, I bring energy, knowledge, and a results driven mindset to every project. As a former college baseball player, discipline, teamwork, and competitive spirit I developed on the field translate directly into my work. I approach construction with that same focus I learned on the field, leading my team, staying on top of details, and always aiming for a home run in execution. When you have me on your project you get the driven energy of a competitive player, as well as someone who knows how to lead a team to victory. When I’m not managing projects or closing deals, you’ll find me spending time with friends or having fun outdoors. I’m all about hitting the golf course when I can! If you ever want to talk projects on the course you can count me in. I also love to play Pokémon Go with my girlfriend. Gotta catch ‘em all!.

Vice President and Co-Founder
Austin Harrell

Hi, I am Austin Harrell, and for the past five years I’ve been proud to call DFW home. Construction has been part of my life since college, when I worked with a general contractor while earning my law degree. After school I decided on a change of pace and spent three years as a licensed property insurance adjustor. My background in construction combined with my law expertise, gives me a deep understanding of contracts, claims, and the importance of protecting homeowners’ best interests. Over time, I realized I didn’t want to stay behind a desk in endless meetings. I saw how valuable my skills could be in construction management. Homeowners often need someone they can trust to navigate the process, avoid pitfalls, and make sure their investment is protected. That realization is what led me to co-found Sonova Construction. Today, I get to combine my background in insurance and law with my passion for working directly with people, helping them bring their vision for their home to life. As a project manager and sales professional, I focus on guiding clients through every step of the process, from the first conversation to the finished project. I know how overwhelming construction can feel, especially for first-time homeowners, and I see my role as making that experience clear, smooth, and ultimately exciting. Outside of work, I enjoy watching sports, golfing, and being active in my church community. I also had the privilege of playing college football as a running back for Illinois Wesleyan University, an experience that taught me the importance of teamwork and perseverance, qualities I bring into every project. At Sonova, my goal is simple: to protect clients, earn their trust, and deliver results that turn their dreams into reality.

Project Manager and Co-Founder
Katy Collins

HI! I am Katy Collins. I have lived in the Plano area for almost 15 years and I love it here. I have worked and volunteered for Plano ISD as well as raised two wonderful young men through the school system here. Our community and bringing good into the world, in every facet of my life including through my work, is important to me. I try to reflect that in everything I do with Sonova. Although I was raised around contractors, I came to construction from a background working in administration and education. Working many roles throughout my career allows me to lean in and help Sonova Construction, our team members, field crews, and most importantly, our customers, in whatever way they need. Being a local and family run business with deep ties to the community is a trait I value, and I think sets us apart. I take pride in doing a job well, and that includes the behind the scenes work of administration. I try to stay just as busy outside of work. If I am not at the pickleball courts or on my kayak, you can usually catch me at a concert, in the kitchen, or on a plane, always with friends and my close-knit family around. You will see this same love of family and community reflected in our work, which is why I love working with Sonova Construction!

Director Of Administration
John Khyll Jabel

John Khyll Jabel I am John Khyll Jabel. I've been proud to call the Plano area home for the past six years, and in that time I've built a life here centered around the things that have always been instilled in me. Hard work, family, and connection to the land. My background is in landscaping, and it's a craft I've dedicated myself to mastering. I believe that the outdoor spaces around a home deserve just as much care and artistry as what's inside, and I bring that mindset to every project I take on. Though I'm newer to the broader construction world, the work ethic I developed over years of landscaping, and long before that on the wrestling mat, has prepared me well. I'm committed to being as productive and helpful as possible to every customer and crew member I work alongside. I'm genuinely excited about what's ahead: growing this side of Sonova's business and putting my knowledge to work designing landscape spaces that homeowners will love for years to come. When I'm not working, you'll find me outside, of course! I will be tending to my vegetable garden, spending time with my dogs, turkeys, and chickens, cooking, or just enjoying the outdoors with family. For me, home is wherever there's good food, good animals, and good people.

Landscaping Sales and Project Manager
Ryan Stewart Druin

I may be new to the Plano area, but I hit the ground running from day one. Before joining Sonova Construction for the summer, I worked at a country club back home where I wore a lot of hats. From pro shop attendant to kitchen support to full grounds crew work, including mowing fairways and maintaining greens, I learned early on that no job is beneath you and that showing up ready to work matters. That mindset has followed me here, and I plan to keep building on it. What draws me most to this industry is the people side of things. I'm here to listen, learn, and figure out the best way to help every person I work with. Whether that's a customer working through a big decision or a teammate who needs an extra hand, I want to be someone you can count on. Growing up watching both of my parents build and run their own businesses gave me a front-row seat to what hard work and dedication can create. I'm here to soak up everything I can and follow in their footsteps. When I'm not working, you'll find me on the golf course. I currently compete on the men's golf team at Southern Arkansas University, and the game keeps me sharp, focused, and always chasing improvement. If you ever want to talk business or work through the details of a contract, I'm happy to move the meeting to the fairway. Green fees are on me.

Sales and Project Management Intern
Kris DePalma

I am Kris DePalma and I am excited to meet you! I have called the Plano area home for 26 years, so when I say I know this community, I mean it. Joining Sonova felt like a natural next step in a career built around people, design, and getting the details right. Before construction, I spent years in team sales and design for cheerleading and dance uniforms. It sounds like a different world, but the skills cross over more than I imagined. Listening to what a client wants, translating that into something they'll love, and delivering on that promise is exactly what I do now, just with tile and cabinetry instead of sequins. Bathroom and kitchen remodels are where my heart is in this industry. One of my niche areas of interst are built-in doggy rooms. My two angels have a custom built, lighted, and cooled doggie den under my stairs. They love their little home, and I absolutely love helping other families build their own custom dog den. These are the spaces people live in every day, and getting them right matters. I love working closely with homeowners to make sure the finished product is something they're truly proud of. Before I found pickleball, I was a cheerleader, gymnast, and softball player, so the competitive spirit never really left. These days you can find me on the pickleball court, at the piano, snuggled up with my dachshunds, or spending time with my family. Those are the things that fill my cup and keep me going.

Sales and Project Manager
Emily D'Errico

My name is Emily and I am happy to be home for the summer. I've called the Dallas area home since I was a kid, so joining a company with community roots is a natural fit. I'm currently finishing my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in English from Texas A&M University, and stepping into the construction world at Sonova has been one of the best ways to put my education to work. I'm brand new to construction, but I bring a genuine eagerness to learn and a commitment to showing up for the people around me. Whether it's supporting the team behind the scenes or helping a customer feel taken care of, I want every interaction to leave people feeling like they're in good hands. Family is everything to me. My parents, my little sister Sidney, my Grammie, and my extended family here in Texas, including Kris, Nick, Andy, Ryan, Nicholas, and Kristin, are my entire support system and my biggest motivation. Although I love working with Sonova, I also stay busy with sports. I've played soccer, softball, and rugby, and that competitive, team-first mentality carries over into everything I do. Outside of work you can usually find me knitting, crocheting, reading, or volunteering at church. I like to keep my hands busy and my heart full.
